what else is new?
anyway, lets get down to business.
If you were born before 1980,
or just happen to be an `80 pop culture addict, like i am,
you remember The Karate Kid.
The 1984 flick gets an update, with a twist.
A kid from Detroit receives a shock
when his mother's career choice lands him in China.
He eventually falls victim to bullies,
learns how to kick their asses, and then does so.
Check out the trailer:
The Karate Kid stars Jaden Smith
[Will & Jada's son for those of you that live under a rock],
Jackie Chan, & Taraji P. Henson
In theaters June 11, 2010
more, after the jump!

next up; The Crazies
The Crazies is a remake of the 1973 George Romero film of the same name.
[some of Romero's other work includes Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, etc]
Basically a small town's water supply has become contaminated,
which causes them all to go insane and eventually die.
Three people who have not been infected have to fight to stay alive,
because the military is killing everyone on sight.
Check it out:
I was only halfway convinced at first,
but when i saw the 2nd trailer, i was hooked.
I'm definitely seeing this next fucking week.
In theaters February 26.
Tekken
*sigh*.
I always saw this as a knockoff of Street Fighter,
but whatever.
The film takes place in 2039,
after several World Wars.
Countries are no longer run by governments,
but by corporations.
The largest of these corporations decides to sponsor
the King of Iron Fist tournament, AKA Tekken.
and, thats right, you guessed it,
much ass-kicking commences.
I mean...I'll see it if you're paying.
The film was previewed last year,
at the AFM Film Festival.
A definite release date is uncertain.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
I'm really anxious about this,
because I loved this video game.
[I love Super Mario Bros too,
and look how that movie turned out]
If you played the game the story is self-explanatory.
If not, *rolls eyes*, I guess I can give a synopsis.
The eponymous prince is given the Sands of Time,
which, as you might have guessed, you smart cookie,
have the power to alter or stop time.
Apparently this power can ruin the world in the wrong hands,
so of course, the wrong hands become involved.
Have a looksee.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time stars
Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton,
Ben Kingsley & Alfred Molina.
In theaters May 28, 2010

Kick-Ass
Extremely average people become superheroes in this comedy.
I think its hilarious.
ch-ch-check it out:
I'm looking forward to this!
In theaters April 16, 2010.
